I think a frugal lifestyle is the only way to go in order to not have to rely on the government once in retirement. The advice given in this book just simply makes sense and is something that should be taken very seriously and implemented right away. The sooner you star, the better off you'll be. And it's not just about money, it's also more environmentally friendly to not spend all your money on stuff that you probably don't need. Great advice that everyone should learn and use.
Really enjoyed reading this book as it gives me multiple perspectives on how I can cut down my costs and save more. There are many aspects that I didn't think of before such as minimizing the use of dryer, being smart about exercising (we actually don't have to reply on gyms if we know what we need for exercises and how to do them), and seeking out for more free entertainment options. If you are thinking about how to cut costs, this book will definitely give you some ideas!
The book has easy to follow recommendations that will definitely work for everybody to save money, but not everybody does it. I tried many times some of them but at the end you become lazy and do not do it. Now, after reading again about the benefits of some habits and advice, will start using these ideas again. I understand that they are very important and helpful. Just need to organize myself better. Thanks.
Most people will feel a lot of tips nerve wrecking. Very hard to follow and sorts. But that's what the book refers to.."extreme frugality" so people who really are in extreme conditions should reach out for this book.
Three stars for paying attention to detail in editing. Nothing new here however. A good book if you are looking for very basic information.
I love my new frugal lifestyle. Being frugal can be difficult but this book definitely makes things easier by teaching you how to better budget your money and save a ton!
Has some good ideas, but nothing new. Typos and misused words (spell check run amok?) are distracting.
While this book did contain some good frugal advice, I did not find the advice to be extreme as the name implies. I thought it mostly contained the frugal basics. Though some will find cutting off your cable and hanging clothes to be extreme, I suppose. If you are new to frugality this is the book for you, but if you are a 60 year old frugalite, raised by a frugal grandmother, you will find nothing new here.
