Very disappointed. I purchased the Lego Classic set of Legos, but so far have not been able to make the items pictured in the book. They all contain pieces that are NOT included in the set. This is not what the book has advertised!

My 5/6 year old loves these books. This is the second one we have bought in the series. The projects are easy to make with even a limited amount of classic legos. We have purchased other, "nicer" books that use impossibly specialized pieces and frustrate my kiddo. If you're looking for a book for a budding lego artist, you will not be disappointed.

This is a very good book. Worth the money. Step by step instructions.

nice challenge for young Lego fans

Grand Kids Love It.

Lots of fun things to build in this book. My boys are already asking for more!

There are some good things about this book. I like the organization, the step-by-step instructions, and the general concept of building a wide variety of things from basic bricks. I like the four themes, with 4-5 objects to build in each theme: for example, a yacht, sailboat, bridge and windmill in the "Busy Bay" section. One main drawback is that I find it pretty hard to distinguish which color bricks are being pictured in the instructions. For example, the Mother Camel uses colors that I'd describe as lemon yellow, golden yellow, orange and red orange, and that's fairly easy to tell in the photos of the finished object. But when it comes to the drawings that show what bricks you'll need and what to place where, it's hard to tell the colors apart on the page (lemon yellow and golden yellow look almost exactly alike) AND hard to know which real-life brick color they're supposed to depict (red orange looks more like regular orange in the picture.) I don't experience this difficulty with LEGO brand instructions.Secondly, it needs to be a lot more clear that you really do specifically need LEGO Classic set 10695 to build what's in this book. The product description and the back of the book say "or bricks you have at home." Based on that, I thought we'd be OK since we have sets 10693 and 10696 - other similar Classic Creative sets totaling 787 Lego bricks compared to the 580 in the set specified. But I had to make some pretty frustrating substitutions that lose a lot of the fun details or leave odd color mismatches. I had to put green spots on my camel's face in order to be able to attach the eyes.In terms of build difficulty, the 5+ age range is about right - and some 4-year-olds could really enjoy it with help, too. However, the frustrations I faced would likely be even more frustrating for most children.I'd give it a 4-star rating if you're specifically pairing with the Lego set 10695, but lower if you're trying to use it with other basic assortments.

This is a great book for any kid (ages 5 up to adult enthusiast) who likes building things with Lego. Easy to follow diagrams guide the builder through the multiple steps of creating various dinosaurs, helicopters, ships, cars, camels and cactus. The book allows the builder to create four dioramas, each with four, or in the case of the dinosaur diorama, five models. To begin, there are diagrams identifying the shape, size, color, and number of Lego pieces required for each model. Then there are sequential, logically laid out, diagrams that take the builder through each step of the assembly of the figure. No English reading aptitude is required, anyone will be able to follow these diagrams. It took just a few minutes to show my 5 year old nephew how to follow the logic of the diagrams. Once it "clicked", he was zooming through, building a complex stegosaurus that he was extremely proud of.
